Acer – CU-6530 Digital Camera Multiple Pictures
November 13, 2008 | Acer, Digital Camera, Electronics | Comments OffAcer is probably not the first company you think about when choosing a new digital camera, but it has a range of a dozen models recently introduced and CU-6530, an ultra – compact camera to come in well under £ 200. This is a 6 megapixels with 3x optical and 4.4x digital zoom and a 63mm LCD screen.

The Full Metal case of this little camera gives him a good, solid feel, but it is still light and compact enough to fit easily into a pocket, even in its belt-supplied suede-like pouch. Its small size can make it difficult to grip and a few buttons on the back that are not easy to use. The three selectors menu, suppression of the image and display icon are better operated with a preview of a set of figures.
The large screen gives a bright image, even outside, and has enough room for icons ranged around its edges not overshadow the subject of a gunshot. You can see at a glance the settings even every day as exposure, image quality, flash mode and battery level.
The menu system works well, providing parameters such as 18 scene modes. These range from portraits and green natural scenes more exotic like candlelight, fireworks, splashing water and pets.
The image quality in a variety of conditions, proved well up as the cameras and beyond its price. Although there are colored blue violet swing, and by large images have been seized, with a good level of detail even in low light environments.
Image noise is not a major problem with this camera and flash performance, while not up to that of the larger (and more expensive) models, is not at all bad for a Ultra-compact. The infra-red beam auto-focus seems more than infra red, so you can see reflected off the walls, but do well focused images.
The CU-6530 connects to a PC via a supplied dock, which recharges the lithium-ion battery and provide a USB connection to a computer or a connection to a PictBridge printer. The power of this platform is rather awkward, requiring two to three-prong adapter, once again included in the box.
Acer provides a card with 64 MB CU-6530, enough for about 20 shots at normal resolution, if not the highest speed. This may be important if you take multiple pictures in rapid succession.
