Acer Liquid A1 Android Operating System Smartphone

    December 24, 2009 | Acer, Cell Phones | 2 Comments

Acer risk on the territory of mobile phone has so far been limited to mobile handsets based on the operating system of Microsoft Windows. Some models like the S200 and F900 tasty, were quite impressive, but there were missing, too, including the E101 very disappointing. However, with the liquid the company is finally venturing beyond Microsoft to give Android try.

However, there are some nice design touches here and there. For example, we like how the buttons are mounted at the front edge of the screen and the fact that Acer has also added three useful indicator icons on the top edge of the phone. They remain hidden most of the time, but the light when the handset is charging or you have a missed call or unread message. Furthermore, Acer has also significantly kitted the phone with a standard headphone jack, you can easily swap the headphones provided for your own. The mini-USB port is also completely standard, you’ll have no problem with topping juice if you are in second place, when the battery is running low.

A key feature of this phone is its capacitive screen. As far as we are aware that this is Acer’s first shot with a screen capacitive rather than resistive, but the results are very impressive. It is a pleasure to use because it is equally responsive to finger presses and stamps as heroes or even the iPhone. However, unlike these two models, Acer has not added support for multi-touch if you can not pinch to zoom in on pages in the Web browser. It is a shame, but not a complete deal breaker. And while the screen can display 256,000 colors rather than the 16 million offered by the hero and the iPhone, in use it is not really all that significant that the colors seem very vibrant and still images and text look nice and crisp thanks to the Crisp WVGA display resolution.
