AIDA GPS Robot Head Dashboard Gadgets
Imagine if you had cut Johnny Five’s Head and put it on your dashboard. I realize that sounds horrible, and I am sure that someone actually did that at the end of the original short circuit, but just imagine that cute little head on your dashboard with phrases like, and show you the way to go home.

Essentially the role of AIDA (Affective Intelligent Driving Assistant). The robot head not only serves as a GPS navigation system, but it actually expressions. It’s eyes look happy when you go in the right direction and become a warning sign when you’re not. There is a video of this intriguing concept after the jump if you’re not already sold on this yet.
AIDA is a navigation system, though. He is smart enough to remember where you were, and this information determines your driving habits. It uses a large number of sensors to collect Intel, and even let you know when you’re low on gas, and what is the best place to stop for gas on your way. AIDA concept is still at the moment and is being developed by MIT SENSElab, MIT Media Lab’s Personal Robots Group and the Volkswagen Group of America’s Electronics Research Lab. [via coolest-gadgets]
