Apple March Quarter Mac Growth PC

April 24, 2009 | Component, Computer, Electronics | Comments Off

The PC market is not in a great spot right now, it is not surprising that Apple (AAPL) will make a hard March on its Mac sales growth. Apple has seen its sales of Mac computers stall as it did in the quarter in March, and we are not out of the woods yet.

Business Insider reports that Wall Street expects Apple to report that it has shipped 2.1-2.2 million Macs last quarter, which will be a decrease of 4% -9% over the year decline. This is the first in five years that Apple will report on a yearly decline of its shipping Macs.

The last time we saw a decline in Mac shipments of this kind was back in 2003 when they were down 5% on the year, which was just before the launch of its Power Mac G5 launch. Business Insider wondered if this is the bottom front of the PC of the next growth spurt. [ via product-reviews ]
