Archos 5 Internet Tablet
January 4, 2010 | Hewlett-Packard | 1 CommentHowever, a couple of months and many updates to the latest firmware, the ARCHOS 5 Internet Tablet is finally a device that is worthy of its specification. As it stands, I can honestly say that it is a very impressive Personal Media Player with a set of features that other machines can only dream.

Unfortunately, the early teething problems that I experienced with the Internet Tablet Archos 5 is not unusual for the brand, so I chose to wait a bit before tackling the exam. Looking at the big picture, but when the review is still current, it was more logical to give you an idea of what this machine was really capable of. That aside, Archos as a society really need to start shipping products that are stable and usable from day one, rather than let the early adopters to perform duties of quality assurance!
Looking at the material, it is clear that this is a serious portable media player. There was a time when the Archos devices are all about features, with a design as an afterthought seem distant, but the Archos 5 Internet Tablet looks fantastic and feels good in hand too. The unit is dominated by the 4.8in screen, which is a real beauty – the colors are rich and vibrant, while blacks are surprisingly deep, make a machine truly excellent film. Add to that the excellent viewing angle, and the Archos 5 Internet Tablet can happily entertain more than one person. [via trustedreviews]
