Ashes 2009 Sport EA Game
August 13, 2009 | Games | Comments OffBut England fare in the final Ashes test, the battle of 2009 has done a fantastic job of dragging Cricket in the public imagination, and which represents a golden opportunity for Codemasters. For nearly 15 years on and off, the company put pressure on the games of cricket Brian Lara under the banner of the defense challenge at EA and receiving a low level of success. If ever there was a time for a game of cricket to hit the big time, it is now, but it will not be easy. EA also noted, it is one thing, make a game of sport that can appeal to the hardcore fanbase sports, and another is to make one that will appeal to a wider audience. Now that the hearing could be ready for The Ashes in 2009. The question is whether The Ashes 2009 ready for this?

To some extent, the answer is yes. Certainly, there are bumps in both the Wii and Xbox 360 versions tested, ranging from convincing animations fielder truly shocking to some resemblance – you’re more likely to find that Andrew Flintoff holding a post office, bowling for England. If you know your cricket players, you’ll probably find others here that efforts are not so strange bizarre carrĂ©ment Valley Grand Canyon. However, most of the graphics or less acceptable, the presentation is black and the commentary by Jonathan Agnew, Ian Botham, Tony Greig, Shane Warne and Ian Bishop, is doing a good job of walking out and about in a little convincing way.
The game also benefits from all the replays, Hawkeye breakdowns, statistics and camera angles that you expect from the TV (minus the big free girls in T-shirts and low-cut top when you start the interest cameramen to lose). The Ashes 2009 is not quite in the same league as the NBA or FIFA on the weather front, but it is certainly in the right direction.
Points, also, to try to make the game accessible to newcomers. Without a basic knowledge of cricket, you will not be too far in the 2009 Ashes, but you do not need anything more than basic. The high-end versions have a good time or if the value of tutorials and Mr Botham Warne, with on-screen prompts to guide you through the controls, and good old Beefy that the opinion on situations where a particular style of shooting or delivery could reap the benefits. This is probably the best in games of coaching I’ve seen since NHL 09 last year. The Wii version is becoming more and more basic training, but then – in this case – that is all that is really necessary. [via trustedreviews]
