Asus 24T1E 24in Full HD LCD TV Monitor

Unfortunately, most of us do not have the space (not to mention money) to acquire one of these animals endangered, and are instead left to the opposite side of the spectrum with a combined LCD TV Monitor, as the Asus 24T1E. This hybrid offers attractive specifications given its £ 265 asking price, including 24 inches of real estate and full HD resolution, which is very useful for both leisure and productivity.

Start with looks, it is not too attractive, although somewhat “busy”. Far from the Monitor TV slim models such as the recent review Samsung SyncMaster P2370HD the 24T1E copious weighs 7kg and is intentionally cumbersome. Its piano black finish grille is surprisingly good at hiding fingerprints, and the large, organically patterned speaker is an elegant touch, but it is really not the kind of design that pleases everyone.

Ergonomic there is an inclination on the menu, but we’ve long since given up hope of finding a TV monitor that offers more. Physical controls consist of a power button, bottom right, with the rest of the controls positioned for easy access along the top edge, built-in accentuating 24T1E’s Silver. They are clearly marked and logically placed, making them easy to use an alternative when the remote is not immediately at hand.

Speaking of the remote, it is actually pretty good. It is a little on the long side, but its size makes it logical, streamlined layout. The buttons are intelligently combined so that – depending on where you hold the remote control – those requirements are still comfortably under your thumb. Indeed, the remote is well in hand thanks to its ergonomic shape and underside flexible plastic mat. The buttons also provide a pleasant texture and the rubber of good reviews. Our only minor complaint is that the shiny surface remote than not pick up fingerprints more quickly than the monitor. [via trustedreviews]
