    Asus Atom-Based Eee PC901 Notebook

    The Intel Atom is very much “the chip of the future” for providers that hope will be a new generation of hot-selling subnotebook PC or mobile Internet devices (MIDs), so that suppliers are now queuing future machines (eg Dell) and Atom versions of machines. Asus comes in the latter category, having already won a great success with the Eee PC700. IDG News Service reports:

    Asus Atom-based Eee PC901

    The Eee PC 901 has been exposed to the WiMax Expo, being held alongside the Computex Taipei exhibition. The laptop is expected to be launched on Tuesday, when Intel announces the availability of the Diamondville version of its Atom processor. Atom chips are relatively efficient power and, apparently, the PC901 has a battery life of four to six hours”.
