Asus Bravo 9500 nVidia GeForce 9500 GT
Purchase of PC graphics cards for your media center has always been somewhat of a challenge. Find a card that is small enough to fit in a slim case is quiet enough not to disturb your movie to watch, the output you need, and giving you the performance you need is a size . However, with its Bravo 9500, Asus believes it has produced the best media center graphics card. Join us as we know if it deserves a rapturous applause and a hand slowly disdain.

As you May have guessed from its name, the Bravo in 9500 is based on the nVidia GeForce 9500 GT, which will not be a power of a card game. Instead, the processing power of this card is especially designed to provide enough grunt to effectively unload video processing your CPU in programs that support it. Not to say not to play any games, but the latest graphics games will be limited to low resolution and low in-game detail settings.
The first media PC ready “in the box 9500 ticks Bravo, then, is its height. A 70mm high, it is called “half-height, although not strictly half the height of a standard graphics card. However, it is short enough to meet the low-profile PC cases that are commonly used for media centers. By default, it comes with a mounting height of maintaining a connection with VGA and DVI connections over HDMI, but the box is double-width/half-height support so you can always have the three video outputs a low profile case.

Another feature is Asus Mooting as a media center is the review of the remote light sensor and support. From the remote, it is not intended as an alternative to the official Windows Media Center remote, but rather as an autonomous unit to work with the Asus software included. Said is a center of alternative media, which gives you quick access to music, photos and videos as well as a tool for media conversion. Its interface is similar to that seen on the Asus O! HDP-R1 play media player, since its base.
The files are found and played by browsing through drives and folders, rather than a thumbnail black library interface engine, such as Windows Media Center. Also, the conversion of media option just opens an included copy of Roxio MediaShow Espresso conversion tool media while the video is in Windows Media Player (but at least you can change this at your choice of reading the media).
This simplicity is acceptable in a unit like the cheap Asus O! Play HDP-R1, but for software that runs on a PC in its own right and is an alternative to Windows Media Center, it is simply astonishing. Asus Why on earth would spend time to produce its own software rather than create a plug-in for Windows Media Center, we do not know. Similarly, it could have worked with to get Roxio’s software and slickly. [via trustedreviews]
