BenQ W6000 DLP Home Theater Projector

It was very long for a new home theater projector BenQ crossed our path. August 2008, to be precise – and even that model was a cheapo LCD employment rather than one of its special traditional DLP home theater impressive. The latest DLP model, in fact, the W5000, way back in May 2008. But now, finally, after this excellent model, the W6000 cleverly titled, is finally seated at our booth projector. And he suggests that this is business, thanks to an organ unusually large for a sub-£ 3,000 machine – especially since its inherent fat is rather stressed by a high enough heavy face design that falls comfortably Short recently tested Sony VPL-HW15 projector issues in sculpture.

This does not mean the W6000 is really ugly, though. Its finish is deep and bright enough to make it seem at least a little snobbish, and slightly different color and finish of rounded, raised section around the central objective is mounted a cute touch.Having just mentioned the lens, I might as well add here that the W6000 supports the addition of a lens Panamorph if you want to display a ratio of 2.35:1 true aspect.

The only serious problem I’d be on the design is that it is all a big wind to the left front of the projector (as you look), where it leaks a little more light than I ideally like to see. Not bad enough to seriously disrupt your viewing, but it does at least suggest that perhaps the frame of the W6000 is not as clever about dissipating heat and noise as some of its rivals. More on this later.

The W6000 connections are exactly as we expected. That is to say they include two HDMIs, a D-Sub PC port, component video input, RS-232 port for external control and a 12V trigger output firing an automatic motorized screen. Multimedia also hopes for the W6000 have been temporarily raised by the discovery of a USB input, too, but a closer examination of this port – a Type mini B – is used for maintenance purposes only.W6000 Get up and running really could not be easier. You can optically image move horizontally or vertically by a simple arrangement incredibly small joystick on the edge of the projector, and the zoom and focus rings around the lens are both easy to use with precision. The 1.5:1 zoom level is pretty good too. [via trustedreviews]
