Many games were eagerly anticipated this year. Even if a small number of titles have been delayed to 2009, a huge amount of games hit the shelves. The games that hit the shelves, some of them live up to expectations, while some have proved failures.

Well, here’s the list of 10 best video games of 2008:
Grand Theft Auto IV – Although originally scheduled to hit stores in October 2007, Grand Theft Auto IV was finally released at the end of April this year. The game has phenomenal reception and some even went to compare GTA IV for the Godfather films of yesteryear. The action game was released for the Xbox 360 Xbox 360 and PS3 Sony E3 2008 Announcement of departure and the PC version was launched earlier this month.
Gears Of War 2 – Gears of War for Xbox 360 was released almost simultaneously with the PS3 and Wii from Nintendo E3 2008 ads were launched. The shooter has proved very popular with Xbox 360 players (like Microsoft and Epic Games had planned). Well, the players wanted more and they kept the announcement of Gears of War 2. The suite was launched in November this year and has proved very popular with the crowd.
Resistance 2 – If the Xbox 360 has Gears Of War, two years ago, Sony has Resistance: Fall of Man for the PS3. Like Microsoft, Sony has chosen to release following the first person shooter in November this year. Well, Resistance 2 published a few weeks ago and PS3 players because the game was made to sell many copies.
Fable II – Microsoft is hated by the dreaded red ring of death, but then you have to accept what they have achieved the best marketing team, and Cliff Bleszinski and Peter Molyneux. The latter was committed to creating Fable II, an action role-playing. The game is a sequel to the original game Fable, which was launched way back in 2004. Well, Fable II, published in October 2008 and has managed to win more than one player. The RPG is surely one of the best games of 2008.
Metal Gear Solid 4 – From the time the PlayStation 3 was launched, most players were waiting for one match. This game was Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots by Konami. The PS3 exclusive finally saw the players receive their dose of stealth action. MGS 4, the masterpiece of Hideo Kojima is certainly one of the best games of 2008.
Dead Space – The Survival Horror genre is large enough and Capcom has been in power since the day they churned the first Resident Evil Thursday twelve years ago. But how could EA be far behind? Well, 2008 saw the release Dead Space, a Survival Horror game on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC platforms. The third person shooter has been acclaimed for its gameplay and players too loved the Ishimura, the Necromorphs and Isaac Clarke, as well as weapons.
Little Big Planet – If the motto of Nintendo was to get occasional to attract non-core gamers, then it seems that the maxim rubbed on Sony too, sort of. GDC last year, LittleBigPlanet was announced for the PS3. The game was developed by Media Molecule, but many have chosen to call more than one platform rather than a party. Call Of Duty: World at War was published in November this year and quickly became a favorite of the fans call of duty. The first person shooter has a great game with incredible graphics.
Crysis Warhead – Yes, it is 2008 and we still have exclusives PC, which apparently could be a good thing! Back in September this year, Crytek and Electronic Arts has launched and Crysis: Warhead. Although not a suite, the PC-exclusive FPS tells the story of Sergeant Michael “Psycho” Sykes and the events that took place on the other side of the island. The game was very popular with PC players in 2008.
