Canon PIXMA MP560 Inkjet All-In-One Printer

The PIXMA MP560 has the same look of faux luxury most of the range, with silvery sides and lid of the scanner, more black border, and rear panel. The cover hides the control panel when the printer is not in use and when folded reveals an LCD panel of 50 mm.

There are two separate paper sources on the machine: a paper tray 150 sheets with a support for lifting the rear and a 150-sheet cassette, which slides out from the front. Canon recommends using the rear of blanks photo and cassette for plain paper, but it is possible to use either the media or in the studio.
Below the control panel on the front is a hinged cover with plastic for a series of three card readers. These include CompactFlash, SD, MemoryStick and xD and there’s a PictBridge socket below the card slots, which doubles as a USB. You can print from a USB key or a scan through this jack.
At the rear of the MP560 PIXMA is a single USB socket, but there is also support wireless. This includes the installation protocols for the major fast quick-links, secure a wireless connection to the most modern routers very simple.
The printer supports five ink cartridges, with a small photo in black alongside the larger, standard black cartridge used to print text on plain paper. Each branch in the cartridge and printhead system Canon LED indicators show when the cartridges are inserted correctly and when they are low on ink.
Drivers are provided for Windows and OS X, but there is no support for Linux said. Canon supplies a good software bundle with the printer, which includes OCR software to support the scanner and EX WebPrint easily print web pages. [via trustedreviews]
