CyberPower Infinity i7 Phoenix Extreme Edition Ultra Gaming PC
March 4, 2010 | Computer, Games | 2 CommentsWell, starting with the specifications are certainly damn impressive, and go through it alone should thoroughly trounce the Fujitsu in all respects. Firstly, we have an Intel Core i7 920 processors. That might not sound too impressive as it is the cheapest, lowest-clocked supply i7 9xx line-up, but CyberPower added watercooling to push this processor to 4GHz stable it is much more slightly faster than the overclocked Core i7 975 Extreme Edition ULTRA found in Celsius.

The Phoenix also doubles the capacity of this machine already prodigious memory, coming with an incredible 24 GB (!) DDR3 RAM. Other highlights include an AMD ATI Radeon 5970 (the fastest money can buy the graphics card) and 80 GB SSD Intel X25 main engine. Like the previous high CyberPower’s End Ultra Perseus, the Phoenix is available when playing Antec Twelve Hundred. A 60cm high, this makes for an imposing animal, and like his predecessor, he is generously stocked with blue LED lighting. With fans blue backlit, a water-backlit cooling tank (which occupies two bays Case prodigious twelve 5.25in drive), responsive and transparent blue water pipes (visible through the window the large side), it is certainly a machine that gets the attention.
Size aside, the Twelve Hundred is very well built and impressive features of the case – although it lacks the tool-free features of many competitors. It is constructed from thick steel, painted flat black inside and out, and without a sharp edge in sight. Physical speed switches are available for all case fans, which includes five 120mm and a top large 200 mm fan. All sports fans intake also removable dust filters.
Connectivity is strong as well. In addition to the usual USB ports and twin headphone and microphone jacks on the front of the case, there is an eSATA port – a big plus, especially as the Antec Twelve Hundred’s build allows you to correctly position a external hard drive its peak. CyberPower has added a 3.5-inch drive card, under the optical drive. This provides third USB 2.0 port and can read all memory cards available – even SIM cards! Speaking of optical drive, as you would expect at this price the company has included a recordable Blu-ray specifically BH08LS20 LG’s Sporting an attractive fascia with silver trim. This player has 8 x BD, 8 x BD-R and 2x BD-RE speeds.
At the rear of the machine, the motherboard connectivity is relatively sparse. There are six more USB ports, a FireWire port and an eSATA port, one Gigabit Ethernet connection and a good old PS2 mouse and keyboard input. A nice selection of analogue and digital audio connections are also available from the onboard audio of the committee, even if they are dismissed by those found on the Creative X-Fi Gamer sound card installed.
