Fujifilm FinePix S8000fd digital camera
November 29, 2008 | Digital Camera, Electronics, FujiFilm | Comments OffThe front of the Fujifilm S8000fd is dominated by the zoom Fujinon 18x optical zoom brand, which offers a 27mm to 486mm zoom range and a maximum aperture of f/2.8 in wide angle. With a zoom, image stabilization is a must-have and Fujifilm uses its dual image stabilization in the Fuji S8000fd, which includes both mechanical image stabilization and high sensitivity ISO / shutter speeds to freeze camera shake and subject motion.

Other features of the Fujifilm S8000fd include a 2.5-inch LCD screen with 230,000 pixels resolution, ISO sensitivity to 1600 (or 6400 at reduced resolution), a series of friendly creativity including options open and shutter priority, more a comprehensive manual mode and 13 scene modes to keep things affordable for the less experienced photographer. Fujifilm S8000fd images are stored in 58MB of memory or xD-Picture Card / SD / SDHC cards in JPEG format. There is no file format Raw on the Fuji FinePix S8000fd. Food for the FinePix S8000fd is four AA batteries, available with alkali included in the bundle of products. S8000 connectivity options are NTSC / PAL video and USB 2.0 Full Speed.
The Fujifilm S8000fd is an ultra zoom with a 18x optical zoom range and a 8.0 megapixel sensor. The FinePix S8000fd is a lovely little machine with a better grip that some cameras and the shutter button in the right place.
There are also three levels of ISO Auto: Auto up to 400, Auto Up To 800 Auto until 1600. You can decide for you how much noise you’re willing to suffer. In well-lit scenes, Auto 400 is the best choice. And in poorly lit scenes, Auto 1600 is your only choice. But you can hedge your bets with Auto 800. This is the kind of function that you miss on other cameras when you used the Fujifilm S8000fd.
Fujifilm S 8000fd play button turned on the camera without extending the lens (another reflected on the zoom button). And he also turned off the camera, rather than switch to recording mode, the extension of the lens.
The FinePix S8000fd features a mini dSLR design that the smallest a compact dSLR. It is too big for handheld, but this is not a burden attached over your shoulder and small enough to leave room in your suitcase for other essentials.
There is very little control over the camera, unlike a reflex. For many Fujifilm S8000fd features, you have to dig through the menu system. However, the Fujifilm S8000fd is more traditional one-piece whose browser arrow keys to provide a dual screen LCD laundering, flash modes, timer options, and Macro modes. In the heart of the browser, a menu / OK button you in the menu system.
You will not find things like ISO, image size, color or options in the Fujifilm S8000fd’s menu system, though. They are on another button, the F button, located on the upper right corner of the browser. The play button (which is my Heisman Trophy) is the upper left. In the bottom left of the screen / button and the bottom line is the EV button, which is also used to adjust and shutter speed in manual modes.
The upper panel welcomes the usual suspects: Shutter button with a zoom ring, the power slide (which is a little too obvious), and fashion. But there are two other buttons on top, one to switch the dual image stabilization and the other from the face detection and automatic red-eye removal.
You can not have an ultra-zoom without an electronic viewfinder. The EVF on the Fujifilm S8000fd shows exactly the same scene that the LCD screen, very accurate rendering of what the device is captured. The Fujifilm S8000fd EFL not return to the LCD screen for reading. Once you switch to the EVF, it displays all in the FLE.
The LCD, however, 230,000 pixel display and you can increase its brightness by pressing the UP.
The Fujifilm S8000fd is the large glass. It is 27mm to 486mm equivalent of a 35mm lens. But it also has a good super macro mode and Super Macro’s really all optical pack you want in a single lens. Add to that a 5.1x digital zoom to the scope of your scene. Available openings range of f/8.0 to f/2.8 with 10 steps in 1 / 3 EV increments.
Optical stabilization is provided by a sensor shift in the design Fujifilm S8000fd. A gyro-sensor detects the amount of blur and an image stabilization chip calculates the amount of correction is necessary. Based on the result, the CCD moves to compensate for camera shake. Digital stabilization uses higher ISO to minimize camera shake. In addition, the S8000fd Fujifilm offers a Picture Stabilization mode (on the dial mode) to both adjust the sensitivity as high as ISO 1600 and increase the shutter speed to minimize subject motion blur.
A long zoom exhibitions like this more than a distortion with a shorter zoom range. It should be noted barrel distortion at the Fujifilm S8000fd wide angle, distortion and pincushion at telephoto. You will also find a lot of chromatic aberration in this goal.
The Fujifilm S8000fd also features intelligent flash. The flash intelligent twist is that it includes the subject position, camera distance, brightness and the scene in calculating the power of flash. Fujifilm coupled with the excellent Face Detection Technology, the flash will expose correctly people in your photos. It has a shooting modes include options such as natural light and natural light with Flash and others.
The Fujifilm S8000fd is a device programmed with PASM Auto, Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority, and full manual exposure modes. In simple terms, which allows you – not the camera – decide what kind of picture you want to take. Auto program lets you choose from a range of opening and shutter speed combinations that offer the same exposure value so you can highlight the depth of field and stop dead in its tracks. Aperture Priority allows you to adjust the depth of field while leaving the shutter speed up the camera. Shutter Priority lets you adjust the shutter speed to avoid motion blur or stop a waterfall in its droplets. And Manuel lets you control both opening and shutter speed to exposure to the values you want to capture, rather than what the camera thinks you want.
The Fujifilm S8000fd offers a range of f-stops of f/2.8 (or f/4.5 telephoto) to f/8.0 in 1 / 3 EV steps increase. The shutter speeds range from four seconds to 1 / 2000 second. The beaches are very good for a Digicam with a small sensor. You often have to step up to a reflex that beating. And the Fujifilm S8000fd takes full advantage of them in the way natural light, bumping the ISO to capture images you generally need Flash for recording.
The Fujifilm S8000fd of natural light with Flash mode takes two shots, one without a flash of light and the other with the flash. They fire very quickly, so that plans are only a fraction of a second apart. Firing the first shot natural light will not disturb your subject. This is another great idea Fujifilm deserves to be emulated.
The scene modes Portrait, Landscape, Sport, Night, Fireworks, Sunset, Snow, Beach, Museum, Party, Flower, Text, and auction. But there are two scene mode positions on the line Mode: SP1 and SP2. The Fujifilm S8000fd actually lets you assign a particular scene that the default mode for each position. You can set the default Service Pack 1 at the Museum, for example, SP2, and failing to party (depending on your lifestyle). Pressing the Menu button gives you access to one of scene modes not assigned to another position in order not to lose anything either. Just one of these little touches that make shooting with the Fujifilm S8000fd such a pleasure.
As for the storage and battery, you can use less expensive xD or SD cards in the same space on the Fujifilm S8000fd. XD card 1GB contains about 261 3264 x 2448 pixel images with Fine compression, according to the company, while an SD 1 GB holds 252. At 640 x 480 and 30 frames per second, you can save 18.7 minutes of video on xD card and 18.1 minutes on the SD card. No zoom in movie mode, though.
Powering pleased that all the four AA batteries. Fujifilm CIPA publishes figures for both alkaline and NiMH. In single use alkaline deliver about 350 pictures if you use the LCD or the FLE. With rechargeable NiMH, this number goes up to 500 images, although NiMH vary in capacity.
The Fujifilm S8000fd also performs very well, scoring above average marks for pre-focus lag and over Fujfilm added significant value on the basis of 18x, 8.0 megapixel image stabilized ultra zoom.
The Fujifilm FinePix S8000fd zooms over the equivalent of a 27 – 486mm range, a very generous zoom range. The results are very good at wide angle, with details quite strong in the coma and low distortion in the corners. 5.1x digital zoom plays as expected, the image of being very soft and lacking in fine detail. No surprise really, examining a 5.1x digital zoom from an 8 MP sensor interpolation from a sensor area of approximately 308k pixels!
The Fuji S8000fd pumps the red, blue and some greens a little, and only the blue tones Nudges towards yellow for the most attractive of the sky. Nice color on a wide range of subjects so typical, bright and attractive but still very natural appearance. The Fujifilm S8000fd can make skin colors slightly on the side rose, but almost certainly within the range that would be acceptable for consumers.
