It uses HP print path which takes brand paper, in this case, a fold-down tray in front and feeds it back on top of the stack entry. There is no output tray as such, but the technique is cheap and gay and works surprisingly well. As there is no coverage for the paper, you’ll probably want to remove and store when not printing, which is a little tricky.
There is no control panel on the machine and a single power button with a green LED inset shows when the machine is active. A single USB connection to the rear is the only way to get data into the printer and a little black power supply provides a low power supply voltage. Unroll a small covered front and ink cartridges twin head move to the center of the replacement car.
There is a black cartridge and one tri-color and the clip up in minutes. The software is basic but adequate, and includes HP’s Solutions Center, and drivers for Windows and OS X. Given its simplicity, it takes a while to install. [via trustedreviews]
