    HP Fire Hazard Battery Recall Notebook

    Attention all owners of HP laptop now, as it was confirmed that HP battery 70,000 units were recalled due to fire hazard. Hewlett Packard working in collaboration with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission to resolve the situation.

    As noted here on the official site, the affected property owners with the batteries in question should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. The official said the risk on the site says that the batteries have the potential to overheat, posing a fire and cause a burn risk to consumers.

    Customers are asked to remove the battery from the computer to remind them immediately and contact HP to see if their battery is affected in the list. Customers will be able to obtain details on how to receive a free replacement battery. [ via product-reviews ]
