HP OfficeJet J4500 Wireless Printer

The top of the case strongly curved and the input tray for the ADF are bright, although the front cover is ribbed, which gives it some character.
Projecting from the front of the machine at the far left is a small panel, well-designed monitoring, focusing on a single line, 16 character LCD. This presentation also shows a number of symbols to indicate how the device is switched to status and conditions, including a “low ink” or “cover open”. The controls include menu navigation simple and a keypad for dialing fax. There is no catch card memory, which is fair enough on a machine designed for office work at home, but it was good to see a compromise, with a front-panel USB / PictBridge socket, so you can print from USB drives and cameras.
The clips paper tray on the front of the machine and a paper should be still in his front lip to catch the printed pages. Pages feeding forward, are deferred and are found on top of the stack entry. As with other HP inkjets cheap, giving the machine a relatively large footprint when in use. There is no cover for the pan so that you may need to store the paper away when you print it. On the back are USB and others to the phone line and a combined third. Most people choose the wireless connection, though, comes standard and is easy to configure, so you can position the Officejet J4500 fairly close to your PC to temporarily connect the USB cable provided.
Installation is automatic and includes applets HP scanning, and a version of IRIS ROC. Ink installation is a bit fiddly, as the two cartridges (one black and one tri-color) slides horizontally, then click Configure in the position of the carriage head. The whole front folds down to provide access to the printing mechanism. You would probably expect a SOHO all-in-one printer with automatic document feeder (ADF) and fax to cost just over £ 150, but the HP Officejet J4500 (a brand new model, it is not currently on sale) will be available at about 130 pounds.
