It is not a combination that appeals to everyone but those who want a cheap machine capable of messaging should definitely pay attention. Aesthetically, the red spots – particularly the back plate, all – make sure the cat 3G stand out from the crowd, but in terms of form factor and the physical layout that is a plain old QWERTY Smartphone for BlackBerry quenching. Unsurprisingly, this makes quite a large phone at 113 x 61 x 15mm, but a relatively modest weight of 125g and general page layout makes it easy to handle.
The keyboard has 3G Cat’s keys with a curve very pronounced, which makes them fairly easy to distinguish from each other. However, they are a bit stiff and overall we prefer those of the BlackBerry Bold 9700, but given the price difference you expect that to be the case. While the layout is nice and intuitive and intuitive text works very well, making quickly type a distinct possibility. [via trustedreviews]
