iPhone 4 Video Calls WiFi Connection Phone
June 8, 2010 | Cell Phones, iPhone | 1 CommentA key feature today on the Apple iPhone 4 was FaceTime. FaceTime brings video calling to the new Apple iPhone 4 [] AAPL and allows users to use either the front facing video camera or video camera rear face video calls on the iPhone 4 others via a WiFi connection.

Note that we mentioned “via a WiFi connection. At the WWDC, Steve Jobs announced that FaceTime in 2010 was a treat only WiFi, but that Apple is working with carriers to bring FaceTime on 3G networks.
FaceTime works right out of the box according to the Apple site. When you make a call to someone you can click on the video camera and if so, the user of the other side will be prompted to switch to FaceTime. If they accept the video stream will be activated.
Even if Apple announces a new service such as FaceTime, it is not that new to some countries that have capabilities of 3G video calling since approximately 2003. However, unlike Apple’s implementation has the highest quality along with the brand that could cause the main stream. My personal reflections on what it is more a novelty item rather than one that will be used all the time. But if it is good to have. Hopefully some sort of application integration that will be made possible or that applications like Skype will be able to use the front facing video camera. [via gadgetvenue]
