A guy over at prusadjs has hacked his former MSI Wind battery 3, attached to a USB connector and is now able to charge an iPhone.

    iPhone Battery Charging

The iPhone takes about 2.5 hours to fully charge the battery and NETBOOK is left with about 50% of the way a second charge of the iPhone should be possible.

The main drawback of this is the large increase in the temperature of the battery because of the regulation in 7805 which reached temperatures up to 120 C depending on the type of hacking it up. He thinks a better design that you can get the temperature right if. The other disadvantage is that the battery is unusable in the NETBOOK once opened and modified to ensure that you have another alternative if you intend to use your NETBOOK after that.
