JVC GY-HD110U ProHD Camcorder Fuji Non Lens
A glimpse of the GY-HD110U reveals the obvious: this is not a “prosumer” camcorder, it is not a derivative of a model of consumption. Controls and switches are arranged in the same way as on the production of high-end cameras.

Because of extensive customization capabilities ago menus, but critical implementation controls are handy when you want them. Deeply inside the GY-HD110U is a real breakthrough progressive camera that sets a new benchmark in the industry.
Film-Like 24 frame progressive capture and recording
24 frames per second progressive acquisition produces recorded images that have a more polished, film-like appearance that the typical video cameras. That is why virtually all high-end digital cinematography cameras use the system 24P. The GY-HD110U uses three 1/3-inch native high-definition CCD that produce a more refined look HD without having to resize. Since 24 images native material is recorded on tape, it is possible to transfer recordings to film without frame rate conversion. Time code is recorded in the 24P mode, so recordings made with the GY-HD110U can be edited with film and high-end digital systems with at ease.
Bayonet Lens
The GY-HD110U includes a standard detachable 16x Servo Fujinon ProHD goal. The operation is the same as for all professional lenses, with mechanical control focus, zoom and iris functions. High servo zoom and iris functions can also be used if desired. Other available options include a 13x lens (3.5 mm) wide optical zoom HD, a wide-angle converter for the standard 16x objective, an adapter allowing inch lenses to be used on the camera and kit filter. JVC offers rear-mounted tripod and focus controls for the standard zoom lenses. Prime lenses can also be used with a 3rd party adapter.
Focus assist function
People viewing high-definition images are often able to see focus errors that would normally go unnoticed in standard definition. Therefore, it is important to focus precisely each scene. For this reason, JVC has developed and patented a “Focus assist function that highlights detail in the viewfinder to facilitate HD focusing.
Extensive user settings
The creation of a real film look more to the recording at 24 frames per second. The gamma camera, detail and black levels can be adjusted to user preferences. When combined with the objective of correcting filters and lighting techniques, film like performance can be obtained that suit the mood of the scene. There is even a tone detection feature that automatically reduces the amount of development in areas of the face so that your subjects will not wrinkled, the television appearance. All custom settings can be stored on an inexpensive SD memory card and transferred to another camera if you wish.
Superior signal processing
JVC advanced DSP and 12-bit A / D conversion gives the GY-HD110U the characteristics of a high-end production camera. Depending on the mood, black levels can be stretched or compressed.
Progressive Scan
The GY-HD110U uses a progressive scan system similar to that used in all high-end cameras to digital cinema. Progressive scanning systems capture and store images and full details can be easily converted to signal, if desired. When progressive recordings are frozen or played in slow motion, images containing details - excellent for viewing and analyzing motion. Prints are made from HD progressive frame grabs look far better than typical available. Moreover, all flat panel television displays and the fixed matrix projectors, such as D-ILA, DLP and LCD are progressive scanning systems and eliminate the need for conversion when displaying GY - HD110U progressive records.
Advanced coding system the leader in MPEG-2 technology
JVC is a leading developer of the MPEG-2 compression system. MPEG-2 is a “interframe” coding system that combines several digital photo frames of data in a group of pictures (GOP). It then removes redundant information from the GOP resulting in far greater efficiency through “Intra”, such as DV, which compresses each frame separately. JVC launched high-definition MPEG-2 recording with its D-VHS format - used by major film studios for screening and reading newspapers. JVC advanced MPEG -2 Codecs are used by major television networks and satellite providers. In the JVC GY-HD110U used a very efficient MPEG-2 codec that compresses the full HD resolution without the “reduction of the image used by some competitors.
Reliable recording media double capacity
The GY-HD110U adheres to the HDV ™ format adopted by JVC and other manufacturers. Compressed MPEG-2, data is recorded on widely available MiniDV cassettes. Since the tape speed is identical to DV, A 63 minute DV tape will give 63 minutes of recording in high definition. In addition, critical image data is interleaved across the box 6 GOP (corresponding to 60 titles in the band) give the HDV ™ great strength in respect of dropouts. In addition to recording on reliable, inexpensive tape, the GY-HD110U can simultaneously record directly to an optional hard disk module, the DR-HD100. In addition to providing a snapshot of back-up recording, recordings made on the hard disk can be accessed directly by the non-linear systems eliminating the need to transfer files. This direct function Edit ™ (DTE ™) provides producers with a win tapecopy while offering publishers the opportunity to immediately begin editing.
2 XLR audio inputs
Professional XLR connectors are provided for each audio channel. The GY-HD110U records CD-quality audio to 384 kbps MPEG1 Layer 2 format. Entry level independent controls are provided for each channel. Audio level indicators are visible in the viewfinder and on the flip-screen LCD.
Compact shoulder mount
The first fully professional HD camcorder to have a shoulder mount type with a compact, the GY-HD110U offers excellent mobility and enhanced usability. The exclusive shoulder-type mounting ensures ease of handling for all, regardless of physical force. Carpet shoulder and the position of headphones can be moved to accommodate the head of cameraman for a more stable shooting position.
Smooth Motion Function (patented)
JVC exclusive function smooth motion capture images at double the normal rate when shooting in 30p or 25p (that is to 60p or 50p). When the double images are merged, they have passed through a filter that softens the subject of the motion by maintaining a low percentage of residual image. This eliminates the motion judd which usually appear in images taken at 30p or 25p.
