LG 42LH3000 42in Display LCD TV
January 27, 2010 | Display, LG | 2 CommentsJanuary is traditionally the time to negotiate the world of television, and this seems true with the buttons on the recession still plagued early 2010. In hot on the heels of a cheap as chips week last Sony TV, here we got our hands on a 42-inch Full HD LCD TV from LG, the 42LH3000, which can be yours for about £ 500. So what’s the catch?

Apparently nothing, if outside 42LH3000 is anything to go by. To begin, the glass type finish looks and feels anything but cheap. But as bold minimalist design with a curved glass of good taste along the bottom edge and surprisingly large blue / red power light work together to create a very stylish addition to your living room. One begins to get used to looking for LG to push the limits of what kind of features we hope to see lower prices. But in reality, the 42LH3000 is quite small bits and bobs of interest. When it comes to connections, for example, has only three 42LH3000 HDMIs rather than the four we now seek to be more or less standard on large screen TVs – even cheaper.
Even more disappointing, given the usual LG enthusiasm for the world of multimedia is that if the 42LH3000 has a USB port, it is purely for the use of services. In other words, you can not use it to read photo, video or music files stored on a USB device directly through the TV screen. The 42LH3000 on-paper specification is a mixture of good and “meh”. Meh on the side, the contrast ratio (for what it is) is quoted in an uninspiring 50,000:1 – and only reached, of course, via a dynamic contrast that tarnishes the luster during scenes dark colors to make black look more convincing.
