Nikon CoolPix S3000 Digital Camera
August 1, 2010 | Digital Camera, Nikon | 1 CommentI already watched some of the top models from Nikon digital camera range today, including the P100 super-zoom, the L110, a superzoom, and cheap, but relatively happy L22, an AA-12- powered megapixel compact. However, there has been a while since I saw one of the S series cameras more stylish. In fact, last I checked were the S640 and S570 ultra-compact, back in January. Nikon has recently launched a number of new models, including today’s cameras, the CoolPix S3000, a small 12-megapixel ultra-compact with a 4x optical zoom.
The S3000 is a type of CoolPix cameras Nikon has always done well, simple, easy to use point and shoot camera designed for casual photographers and social. It is a pretty little thing, and is available in a range of seven colors, including silver champagne, magenta, green, blue, orange, red and matte black a little more sober seen here. This is an exceptionally small camera, measuring just 94.3 x 55.9 x 19.0 mm which makes it a little longer but a few millimeters thinner and less high than the S570. It is also very light, weighing only 116g with battery and memory card. However, the build quality is excellent, with a beautiful and well finished all-metal body. The rounded and flush-folding lens are ideal to slip into a pocket or purse for a night out.
The S3000 is essentially what you get if you were to cross the S570 CoolPix S225 with the elderly. It has only a 4x zoom 5x instead of glass on the S570, and there are some cosmetic differences, but other than that the specifications are nearly identical. The S3000 is a very cheap camera, currently selling for about 90 pounds, so do not expect too much from her, but for the price you have a well made and stylish camera with the additional Cudos Badge Nikon.
