    Nintendo Viewing Apple Gaming

iPod touch and Apple iPad have not really been long enough to determine their place in the long term handheld game. Sony PSP and Nintendo DS programming are always on fire handhelds when you think of the game on-the-go, but there is no doubt that Apple is to have at least a small impact on things. The App Store is full of games, most of which are cheaper than the same titles on the Sony PSP and Nintendo DS family.

Whatever your own views, it is clear that Apple has the attention of the other “great playmakers. Sony has in the past, admitted that IPAD was not a threat to the kingdom game (maybe something to feel better), and now Nintendo opens with some reflections on their own imake. In one more piece to the Times Online, nintendo Satoru Iwata (President and CEO) had a few choice words from a report quarterly results in which net profits of the society feel for the first time in six years.

In recent years, Nintendo has rebounded significantly since the sad days of the Game Cube and Nintendo 64. Both consoles have been great, but they fall in sales behind Sony and Microsoft rivals. Now, Nintendo seems to be a giant fight, the Wii made despite doubts on an SD card as the console does not grow along the more powerful Xbox 360 and PS3. In fact, Nintendo feels pretty confident about their current position on the market, with the report noting that Iwata feels as if the battle “Sony” is a victory “already won” and that Apple is one that must now be treated as the enemy of the future”.

Nintendo is also trying to revive its image of surprise, and thinking outside the box and ahead of the others. It is clear that the idea of motion gaming has taken the world by storm, and Nintendo would kickstart the next gaming revolution. But see the battle with Sony that is “history” you are an interesting variation, and giving Apple so much credit is also something to think about. IDevice Could Apple really affect the gaming arena? It would be a sure thing, given that Apple never actively entered any of these devices in this category. Maybe it’s just a sign of further convergence, signaling that people want fewer devices simply handle more tasks. IPAD acting as an eReader and the smartphone as a laptop are both proof of that, then why portable game be otherwise. [via hothardware]
