Nokia N900 Operating System Internet Tablet Phone

    December 16, 2009 | Cell Phones, Nokia | 1 Comment

Nokia Series 60 operating system has been around since 2001, so it’s perhaps not so surprising that when you place a series 60 handset next to an iPhone or an Android phone operating system is a little tired. Perhaps that is why Nokia decided to use an operating system completely different on the N900, the latest internet tablet / mobile phone hybrid.

Instead of the 60 series, he has opted for its OS Maemo latest, which is based on Debian Linux. This is not the first time it is used on Maemo one of its devices – the operating system previously made appearances on the N770, N800 and N810 Internet Tablet but this is the first time he has been used on a device with mobile phone functionality.

In terms of look, the N900 is certainly not the most attractive phone that Nokia has produced. The design is heavy and brutal, which is underlined by the fact that it is twice as thick as most other touchscreen phones on the market right now (it measures 59.8 (W) x 110.9 (H ) x 19.5mm (D) and weighs 181g with battery).
