Nokia Symbian UI Operating System Phone
December 5, 2009 | Cell Phones, Nokia | 1 CommentNokia showed photos of the new Symbian user interface and what they consider to be like. Nokia reported that for the following year, they rejected just a smartphone and Maemo will spend the rest of the time focusing on the Symbian operating system.

Nokia said that the main problem with Symbian OS is the operating system it self, but in fact, the UI (User Interface). What Nokia are planning to do is reduce the number of taps you need to do to move through menus. Rather than creating an e-mail with 4 lanes will be reduced to 2 lanes screen. Other content and functionality will also get improved in the same way as easy to access music, photos, etc.
In addition to reducing the steps necessary to accomplish something, Nokia will also increase the performance of the user interface from the current 15 frames per second up to an impressive 60 frames per second making it ultra-smooth. The images below show a handset with an edge near the edge of the capacitive screen. This phone is actually just a concept rendering of what they could do. Looking at the screenshots, the interface does not look pretty good. If she can do as they say it does then they could simply be trying to return to buying a Symbian device next time.
