The Panasonic Venus Engine V-board eliminates digital noise and helps highlight the contrast and natural elements in the image.

The ZX1 is not small, although not as large or as boneless top-specced Lumix its stablemates, the DMC-TZ6 and Panasonic DMC-TZ7. It is a balance between an elegant, slim and compact snapper upscale, and is designed to compete with people like the Canon Digital IXUS 95 IS and Digital IXUS 100 IS.
A long battery life of up to 330 shots is perfect for a day trip and pictures can be taken into HD video with high definition. Despite not being as souped-up as a TZ, it has a respectable 8x optical zoom. Other features include Power ISO to maintain the greenhouse at the bay, and the automatic lock on a moving subject and keeps it in focus. In fact, Panasonic believes the autofocus is twice as fast as the TZ7.
The Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZX1 is available in September 2009 and the price is not yet available.
