To dish out clever scathing reviews at the drop of a hat, and give praise clenched teeth. The problem is, as anyone who had the misfortune to see the contents of my wardrobe will attest, I’ve never been a dedicated supporter of fashion.
And so I have absolutely no qualms whatsoever about kicks off this review of Philips 40PFL9704 LCD ‘TV by saying first that I openly admit having really looked forward to the arrival and the second that he has not let me down in the slightest. So there. The reason I had the 40PFL9704 so high on my ‘want’ list is simple: because it marks the second generation of technology backlight LED from Philips, the apparent improvement in all sorts of ways on efforts already impressive Philips 42PFL9803 LED ‘debut.
Perhaps the most significant of these improvements is that senior 40PFL9704 the number of clusters separately controllable LEDs illuminating an image of a massive 75 per cent to 224. This is important because the LED direct approach, the 40PFL9704 – where the LEDs are placed behind the screen rather than around its edge – allows the screen to provide local dimming, where the individual LED clusters can have their level of lighting appropriate to offer a brightness level not possible with localized lighting regular single LCD CCFL.
Therefore, more clusters separately controllable screen LED local dimming is more precisely you can control lighting located.
