Samsung R580-JS02UK 15.6in Black Calibrated Notebook
March 26, 2010 | Notebook, Samsung | 1 CommentThere are two versions of the R580 on sale now and we’re reviewing the most expensive of the two, the R580-JS02UK. Both use the same Intel Core i3-330M processor, which runs at 2.13 GHz with 3 MB of L2 cache and a 512 nVidia GeForce 310M graphics card.

But while our backs this model with 4 GB of DDR3 RAM and hard drive 500GB and £ 580 asking price, cheapest JS03UK has 3 GB of RAM and a 320 GB and can be purchased for around £ 525. In most other respects, however, both are identical and that Samsung fails to install a 64-bit version of Windows 7 Home Premium, despite including 4 GB of RAM, both should also be performed. Other specifications include both Wireless-N Wi-Fi, Gigabit Ethernet and Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, covering all the basics you want at this price.
Opening the box the first impression of the R580 is an amazing cover of dark red and black calibrated. This, it seems, is a return to the “touch of color theme” that Samsung has flirted with one or two years ago, only to drop due to the appearance a bit rude. Clearly, the Koreans have cracked, however, since the arrival on the R580 infused with swirly patterns looks the business. Samsung also considers the shiny plastic finish is more scratch resistant. We can believe that our model has not been grazed in our time with her, but she can not do anything to prevent the usual fingerprints and smudges.
This theme is repeated inside the machine, although with slightly less subtlety. It always seems good, though, especially when paired with the black screen bezel and minimalist design mat. Samsung has always adopted a less is more to a laptop design, which is with us. [via trustedreviews]
