April 26, 2009 | Component, Computer, Hardware | 2 CommentsThe new line of Seagate Barracuda LP (Low Power) hard drives deliver on the promise of sustainability, energy efficiency and a more favorable ecological footprint by helping organizations reduce costs PC power and give the money-minded consumers great performance.

The LP Barracuda (ST32000542AS) is the internal drive first from Seagate to store two terabytes of data, 2TB is the current maximum capacity of a single 3.5 inch SATA disk 2. The Seagate Barracuda LP is also reduced energy consumption compared to conventional hard drives 7200 rpm, while maintaining reasonable performance.
Growing demand for fuel systems efficient computation is not only a phenomenon as a data center builders external storage devices, desktop PCs and networking systems, home working to provide customers with products that combine power and efficiency that offers solid performance.
Performing a read / write operation simultaneous drive to consume 6.3W. As Barracuda 2TB LP has a constant rotational speed, power consumption is more coherent than the Caviar GP, which spins the disc trays at varying speeds. Overall, the LP Barracuda uses less energy than most hard drives internal 3.5 inches, but the energy savings are not as important as the Caviar GP’s.
If you need 2TB of storage, Seagate’s Barracuda LP internal hard drive is a good choice and delivers decent performance.
