Seagate Barracuda XT 2TB 64 MB SATA HDD

With the DSS to get all the limelight, it’s been a while since we’ve sought to move the old hard drives parties. But with the 3.5-inch drives offer capacities of at least 20 times higher than their state counterparts in similarly-priced solid, they are far from dead. Unlike the Green WD then, which focused on energy savings and quiet, reliable operation at the expense of performance, four Seagate monster tray will speed on everything. To facilitate this, the Barracuda XT has a huge 64 MB cache, which facilitates high performance burst and wipe the floor with most competitors offer only half. On the other hand its areal density of 368Gbits per square inch is not quite to thank you 400Gbits Green WD’s perpendicular magnetic recording of the latter (PMR) technology.

However, it uses the fastest interface available: SATA 6GBit / s. This requires a compatible motherboard like Asus P7P55D-E Premium, if the older SATA II cables can be used as long as they are less than one meter (most are). Unfortunately, in our preliminary tests for P7P55D-E, we found that there is very little difference between SATA 6 Gb / s and the previous level, but now you can see all the nitty gritty little details for you Similarly, and as we are likely to be unpleasantly surprised.
