pureSilicon (pure) introduces the new Renegade R2 rugged solid state drive which is tracking the series Renegade. Based on SLC NAND flash, the R2 comes with up to 256GB capacity and delivers up to 255MB / s read and 180MB / s write speed.

The Renegade R2 meets MIL-STD-810F. It utilizes SATA II interface. 4GB-128GB versions are currently available, the Model 256 GB, PATA, 1.8 inches, and versions of encryption will be released in Q1 2010. [via itechnews]
