Sennheiser PX 210 BT Standard Bluetooh Stereo Headphones

Sennheiser is no stranger to the quality of wireless audio products, as evidenced by the RS 170 headphones. The PX 210 BT headset bring this goal of high sound quality, wireless audio to a more portable form factor, exchange Kleer 2.4GHz Bluetooth wireless technology for the more ubiquitous in the process.

Sennheiser engineers are not stupid, though. They know that the sub-band coding used by the standard Bluetooth stereo headphones do not provide amazing audio quality. To counter this, the PX 210 BT use the apt-X codec – as also featured by the D5 Creative ZiiSound with great success. Experience therefore suggests that the Bluetooth transmitter will not be an obstacle to these headphones performance. You’d better not, taking into account the £ 112 price request.

And indeed, this is not the only cost to consider. If you want to get the most out of the 210 PX BTS, you will need a transmitter able to broadcast using apt-X. We came with an adapter Sennheiser BT300i, which matched automatically, but no third alternative may be available in due course. Of course any device does not support apt-X can still connect.

The design is smart phones, with the headphones rotate 90 degrees inward, then fold in the strip, on hinges. A carrying case is provided in the box, so you do not just Chuck PX 210 BT in a protective bag.

There is enough adjustment in the headband that even those with particularly small heads and large should not have any problem getting a good fit. Both the headband and earphones are well padded, which helps make the PX 210 BT comfortable to wear even for long periods. It is possible that the supra-aural design (comprising the ear headphones) is not suitable for some people, but we had no complaints.

Usefully, and unlike some Bluetooth headsets, the PX 210 BT headset also features a headphone jack. Unfortunately it is the variety of 2.5 mm, but a cable of 2.5 mm to 3.5 mm is provided, but it’s great to be able to continue listening to music if the battery falls down halfway through a train journey.
