The PlayStation 3 now costs 35% less to make than previous models, but are not too excited that this will be a long time before seeing a kind of price reduction, if ever.

We all know that Sony is locked in a fierce battle with Nintendo Co. and Microsoft Corp. because they have the Wii and the Xbox 360, respectively. Sony is losing this battle, which is a direct result of rising prices of the console games. Sony has packed so many high-tech equipment, as Sony struggling to bring the price down.
The previous PS3 was sold at a loss, Sony has to fall short in game sales and royalties. Thank you to major changes in components, the price rose from $ 690.23 for the first generation PlayStation 3, to $ 448.73 for the last generation. [ via product-reviews ]
