Sony Launch Bigger OLED HDTVs
August 19, 2009 | Display, Sony | 3 CommentsSony is delaying its plans to launch a new, broader range of OLED TVs to complete his (excessively expensive) 11in XEL-1, according to “people familiar with the matter,” speaking to the Wall Street Journal.Apparently, the delay is the result of a fairly large number of losses Sony has done recently. Put the TV in OLED mass production, the WSJ has been said, simply exacerbate losses.
This seems a logical assumption. It is difficult to imagine the Sony XEL-1 broken sales triple (or double) and figures with the current economic slowdown travel expensive TV, even if it uses a OLED screen, will not exactly be easy.Of course, Sony does have competition to consider. LG, for example, plans to launch a 15in OLED TV this December, although, as the time for large televisions 32in models arrive in 2012. Samsung called its 14in and 31in OLED TV production ready, but did not say when he said to begin selling televisions.
For now, therefore, it seems that we are simply to remain patient a little longer. On the positive side, at the time of OLED TVs for sale, we could all have saved enough to afford one – even with the current interest rate terrible! [via trustedreviews]
