Sony PS3 3.15 Firmware Games
December 10, 2009 | Games, Sony | Comments OffSony has announced a new release of firmware for the PlayStation 3 from Sony. The new firmware 3.15 offers a feature that lets you copy the contents of a PS3 to another. Data such as saved games, save data, video etc. … will be transferred and removed from the PS3 while the former personal data such as photos and videos submitted will be copied and not removed from the PS3 original.

The update is optional and should not be installed unless you need the features mentioned. A quick run of how the system works can be found after the jump.
Data Transfer Utility
1. Turn the current PlayStation 3 (A) and the new PS3 (B) and connect with a LAN cable, PS3 (A) must be connected to the TV. Please note, the firmware (v3.15) must be installed on both systems.
2. On the XMB of the PS3 (A), scroll to the Settings category, then select [System Settings], then [Utility Data Transfer]
3. Follow the instructions on the screen and data transfer
4. After transferring data, follow the instructions on the screen, then connect PS3 (B) to the TV to display the XMB
5. If the content has been downloaded from the PlayStation Store has been transferred as part of this operation, you must enable PS3 (B) before you can use the data. Connect the PS3 system under the user who owns the content, then select (PlayStation Network)> (Account Management)> (activation system) to activate the system.
In addition to the functionality of data transfer the updated firmware 3.15 will minis that can be played on the PS3. Minis are clogged games that let you play games for shorter sessions of play more relaxed.
