It is easy to get excited when Sony book one of his many super-expensive ultra-portable, like the VAIO TT Series Z or, at our door, but in the past of his great laptops were a bit hit and miss. For all the praise of its luster and the VAIO brand engenders among consumers, the reality is not all singing, all dancing people imagine computing experience. However, in the new NW series, Sony we may finally cracked the big portable affordable.

One thing we particularly liked the VGN-NW11 / S that we are considering today is the lack of subject matter that is so abundant elsewhere: shiny plastic. This is true of most laptops from Sony, which makes it one of the few manufacturers that has not jumped on this movement. You can always get the brilliant mind, but it is nothing as irritating as processing of fingerprints, dust and grease that adorn every inch of the chassis.

Instead, Sony has opted for a textured finish plastic – in this case, the money, even if a brown version is also available. We dare say it will not be for everyone, but it is very difficult to wear and demonstrates the quality of construction seen decent throughout the machine. There are some nice touches around the NW11, too. Particularly praiseworthy is the touchpad, which includes a sheet of plastic molded into the palm rest. Not only is it rather fetching, texture offers a large area tactile feedback – the two buttons are fine, too.

Over the button, we now have the current isolation keyboard. Sony is the company that started all this, however, it can hardly be accused of imitation. Initially, the white keys appear a little shock, unlike the money from their surroundings, but it is a foible more quickly and the keyboard itself is a fishery. Keys has a nice firm and responsive and the layout is perfect – we can not think of a review.

Continuing our journey to the top, above the keyboard there is a grid of loudspeakers, which inserted a few shortcut keys, the power button and status lights for Caps Lock, Num Lock and Scroll Lock. A mute button is the only dedicated media control, with volume controls on the keyboard, but there is also a button to turn off the backlight – handy if you use your laptop for listening to music. Most interesting, however, is the ‘Web’ button, which launches a version of Splashtop instant the town on the desktop.

Unlike other implementations, which have a selection of applications, Sony has opted for the web browser. This is not a bad idea, since the elimination of the reduced starting applications even further (less than 30 seconds to cold to web page) and the Web browser is probably the most useful of Splashtop. This makes it a pure element to get online quickly, but it is somewhat limited – you can not even adjust the brightness of the display, you will not use this mode for long periods.
