Steam Powered Charger Unique Perhaps
April 16, 2009 | Electronics, Gadgets | 2 CommentsThis iPod or mobile phone charger is perhaps the most unique I’ve ever met. Rather than using a traditional wall socket or solar panels that we use a small steam engine to create the power to charge the device.
The Steam Powered charger is connected to a Lego Technic Motor. The steam engine is a Jensen # 75 which is responsible for obtaining the Lego engine running. A 5V regulator circuit is attached to what is home to a female USB connector. Simply Simply attach your USB device to load the USB connector and get the movement of the steam engine.
You have to admit that it is a quite unique to your USB powered gadgets. One last note. Check out the Lego man and his mini-control center. (More photos after the video). [ via gadgetvenue ]
