This does not mean, however, that we have not played the Biggies, discussing them, and fighting over which ones deserve the glory, and who deserve the infamy or obscurity. As always, the list that follows is not everyone please (or, indeed, everyone in the office TR). However, our games of 2009.

The wisdom used to be that FIFA was the football match for the style-over-substance loving casual gamer, while Pro Evo has been the football game that the true fans and players a real advantage for. Well, if FIFA 09 put that opinion in question, then FIFA 10, it was destroyed completely and decisively. FIFA has always been the best game to watch, but now the killer combination of 360 degrees and control a fantastic system truly realistic physics FIFA 10 at least as good as Pro Evo to play – and probably better. It is a clever and precise fluid football, where there is room for display of actual skills and goal-making flair.
Moreover, it is a game deeper than ever with the new Pro virtual mode by adding significantly to make the FIFA long term. Meanwhile, the excellent modeling and animation of the players, not to mention superb online play, FIFA set comfortably ahead of the pack Konami. FIFA used to be the year’s best selling sports game.
