Toshiba Regza 55SV685DB 55in LED LCD TV
Before entering the actual examination, there are a couple of interesting little context, I think it is interesting to introduce. First, 55SV685DB is not the first 55in LED on TV we’ve tested. The first luxury Sony 55X4500 ‘, used with direct lighting RGB LED dimming properly, but at a heavy price. UE55B7020 recent Samsung, meanwhile, used-edge LED lighting and has managed to be reasonably affordable, but frankly hard to earn advanced work based on LED technology in the 55in size, marked with light pooling in each corner.

So, if 55SV685DB can make a white color to direct the work approach has led to its Sony-drubbing £ 2149 price (the cheapest we found that aging now Sony 55X4500 is £ 2,800) and Toshiba could be ideally placed to snap up a piece of heavy market mammoth screen. The other context is that I have reviewed the little brothers and sisters 55SV685DB the 46SV685D, and I find myself having to score heavily because of its price. It is therefore surprising to find 55SV685DB actually looking for a reasonable price for such a large screen LED lit. In fact, we found that it is for the best part of £ 200 less than the 46in model is when we made the criticism in November!
Clearly, Toshiba has listened to my complaints about how ridiculously expensive the 46SV685D watched. Or maybe they realized they were not selling at all at home SV685 price! In any case, the simple fact is that Toshiba has reduced the price absolutely 55SV685DB its opening operation, and in doing so has overcome instantly what was likely to be a bone of contention for this huge test. Mounting a 55in screen in your living room is, of course, quite a commitment. And we must say that if the 55SV685DB, this level of commitment is complemented by the segment instead of heavy glass which exceeds by about three inches on each side of the screen. Oh well – at least this telescope is quite attractive with its glass-like finish and cute ‘Fade to Gray “effect at its ends.
As usual with the current range of Toshiba, it is a love-it-or-hate her trademark logo light at the center of the lower edge of the TV. Although please note that if you fall into the ‘hate it’ camp, you can turn the lights off. The 55SV685DB is nearly as well connected as you would hope for a TV that is, after all, comfortably flagship model from Toshiba. Highlights include four HDMIs (three rear, one on the side), a USB port capable of playing DivX videos, JPEG photos and MP3 audio files, an SD slot capable of playing JPEG files, and Ethernet port for streaming stuff off your PC. It’s a touch disappointing that such a very special TV offer you can also go “online” via the Ethernet port, but there it is. Maybe Toshiba will make some moves in this direction with its new next generation of LCD TVs. [via trustedreviews]
