Toshiba Serial ATA 1.8 Inch Hard Disk Drive
Toshiba declared it has newly 1.8-inch hard disk drives on serial ATA user interface ‘MK1216GSG’ and ‘MK8016GSG’ which offering a storage capacity of 120GB and 80GB severally.
This is the 1st Toshiba 1.8-inch HDD to apply an serial ATA port, which supercharge data transfer rates beyond those accomplished by the parallel ATA port, and as well offering a rotation speed of 5,400 rpm, 29% faster than the actual generation of Toshiba HDD. Higher rotation speeds accompaniment faster data access inward reading and writing and raise total drive performance. Beside high-velocity data transfer, the newly drives offer bundle size, vibration resistance, and shock resistance.
Toshiba showcased the new drives at Intel Mobility Summit, in Shanghai, China from February 26 to 28. Mass production of both drives will start in April.
