Ultimate Ears 700 Noise Bright Silver Plastic Headphones
September 30, 2009 | Electronics, Headset, Peripheral | 2 CommentsThe headphones are finished in bright silver plastic, but luckily it is not such cheap-looking. Instead the finish has a slightly smoky, quality blue for him. This is a step in the quality of the Image X5 metal X10S, but if the choice between (probably) better sound quality or a metal tray, then I’ll get the best option for each survey times.

Their small size makes the Ultimate Ears 700s very comfortable to wear even for extended periods or – perish the thought – in active mode. The angle of 90 degrees at which the cable meets each earpiece means they can be worn either “normally” with the cable fall down, or “more Shure ear” style, giving access safer and helping to eliminate noise cables. It would be nice to had an on-line and distance as I find having to reach into my pocket and remove my iPod touch to skip tracks extremely boring, but I guess it’s my fault for having a player with no physical checks.
It’s almost scary to think back two years. Two years ago, I tried to convince anyone who would listen that I had not wasted my money buying a PlayStation 3 – despite a lot of evidence to the contrary in this point – and I spat nearly £ 250 for a set of Shure SE420 earphones dual-driver. Fortunately, things have changed in the last 24 odd months. Sony console is now quite impressive and has undergone substantial revision and the price of headphones has fallen so much that a set DualDrive, such as the 700 Ultimate Ears earphones I use now can be had for around £ 130 – if is not progress I do not know what it is!
The price is not the only good thing about the 700S, though. Not long ago we were praising the X10S Klipsch Image and Image for X5S Sounding great, while being incredibly small and light. But, surprisingly, Ultimate Ears has managed to craft an even smaller headsets and CRAM not one but two drivers in them. It is a remarkable feat of engineering and makes this award even more impressive. [via trustedreviews]
