    ViewSonic ViewBook VNB102 10.1-Inch Netbook

    December 16, 2009 | Electronics, Notebook | 2 Comments

Someone really needs to take ViewSonic one side and let them know that the netbook market has evolved. The company announced the first of these machines, the ViewSonic VNB102 viewbook, and it is a sad reminder of all that bored us in the first twelve months of netbook specifications. Intel Atom N270, a 10.1-inch screen and 160GB hard drive is first to induce yawns, and Windows 7 Starter certainly will not change that.

There’s also WiFi b / g – not of 802.11n – and 1 GB of RAM, but no Bluetooth. Ports include regulating three USB 2.0 ports, VGA, audio in / out, Ethernet (both described as 10/100 and Gigabit on a plate to confuse ViewSonic spec) and a 3-in-1 memory card reader. Battery life is tilted until 6am, and there’s a VGA webcam. All for $ 399 when VNB102 arrives December 18. ViewSonic promising new viewbook netbooks in 2010, lets hope they have a chance to see the rest of the market in the meantime and get up to speed. [via slashgear]
