Ours was a black plastic casing, but the site shows Viewsonic white and pink ubiquitous as alternatives. The screen is a 110mm active matrix LCD and the camera has a built-in 1800 mAh Li-ion.
In this case, for built-in, we will also not customer replaceable, which might be an error. Because Li-ion battery packs have a typical service life of three to four years, with a player where you can not access the battery for the update could pull the player to a premature death.
Viewsonic claims up to 12 hours of audio playback or 6 hours of video off a single charge and we do not dispute that under normal use. The machine has a display unusually geeky battery life, which shows a graph in real time voltage and current usage. Just about useless, but cool anyway.
This is not an all-singing PMP with touch-screen control. Instead, it relies on two trios of buttons defined in its upper edge.
