Western Digital has announced it will begin shipping its 2.5 “WD Scorpio Blue 640 GB hard drive that will see action in consumer notebooks, making it the largest capacity hard Drive 2.5 “in the industry today that its 9.5 mm, 2 drives form factor is concerned. Despite being large capacity, the new WD Scorpio Blue 640 GB disk manages to reduce its overall energy consumption by up to 30% through the implementation of several new technologies inside.
