Xerox Phaser 6128MFP Multifunction Devices Printer
May 18, 2010 | Portable Storage, Printer | Comments OffThe combination of laser printing with color scanning, copying and faxing in one machine is both compact and cost effective, but each element must be well adapted. Xerox offers a complete line of Phaser 6128MFP color multifunction devices and the seat nearest the bottom than the top end of its range.

This is a big machine, measuring more than half a meter high and is considerably larger than it appears in the brochure Xerox. It would be better on a clean, rather than sit on someone’s desk. Dressed in white and Xerox dark blue, the machine has a rather old scanner-on-top-of-appearance of a printer. It is designed so that the scanner with its 35-sheet automatic document feeder (ADF), is in the output tray of the printer.
There is only one paper tray of 250 sheets at the bottom of the machine with a paper feed slot just above. This provision is the lowest area of design, like a busy office will get through 250 pages quickly and there is no option to add additional drawers.
The control panel is busy, with eight Fax speed dial buttons on the left side, and a full numeric keypad to the right for individual membership number. This keypad is a secondary objective for entering passwords, you can send a print job to secure and recover the printer by entering a personal password.
The fully bitmapped, backlit LCD display used in a variety of ways to display all of the state of toner in the Options menu, though more could be done using graphics to display on certain other multifunction type. There are outlets in the rear for USB and Ethernet, as well as a telephone line and an optional third combined.
For a machine, you must first pull down the front panel to reveal the transfer belt and four color printing drum, each of which needs backing off. Behind the door on the right side are four toner cartridges and each of them must also be locked in place before the machine can print. Xerox supports Windows, Apple OS X and SUSE Linux and Red Hat and there is a utility analysis of office and written by Nuance PCL 6 driver for Windows clients. [via trustedreviews]
